FAQ
Why is stock similarity important?
High similarity (above 80%) or correlation in technical terms means that price movements of paired symbols often coincide. Similarity score is calculated using one-year quotes.
Why does financial data differ from GAAP figures?
Summary of financial data is calculated from original 10-K filing, however we use a custom approach for classification of items in the annual report, which was optimized to achieve unification and comparability between different companies.
Why is financial data old or missing for some stocks?
Even though all publicly traded companies regularly publish financial reports, the format of financial statements is far from being standard. Unfortunately, sometimes it causes misinterpretation of items in financial reports and results in wrong values. We apply multiple integrity checks to financial data before publishing, if integrity check fails the data is not shown.
What is the StockMetrum index?
StockMetrum is an original index intended to assess the confidence of US stock market growth in a short term. Index is calculated daily using an advanced Artificial Intelligence approach.
How long-term estimates are made?
Long-term estimates are created using Artificial Intelligence from the past data: historical financial performance of a company, market trends and various technical data. Such estimates project trends from the past on the future and are not intended to be utilized for any investment decisions.
Price is out of estimated range, what does it mean?
Long-term estimates represent price expectations tailored to a particular company assuming that TYPICAL financial performance from the past would continue in the future. Thus, missed estimates mean one of the following: company’s performance is NOT TYPICAL, market/industry performance is outstanding, or our estimates are just not good (sorry). We emphasize that these estimates should not be used for investment decisions.
